I want to add a string to the beginning of every line in a selection of code or text.
For example, I am reformatting what used to be a liquid templating list to a YAML list, e.g.

One solution - overview:
There are many ways to prepend to code quickly in bulk. One of the more versatile ways is by using the replace tool in Visual Studio Code combined with regex (i.e. regular expressions).
The 'find' field will have the caret character ^ which indicates the beginning of a line. The 'replace' field will have whatever you want to add at the beginning of lines.
Example:
For example, if I have the code in the screenshot below that I want to prepend the string ' - ' to:
First, select the code to prepend to:
Then invoke the 'replace' tool:
Make sure you select the option to replace in your selection only. Then use a regex search for '^' as the beginning of a line, and replace with what you want to prepend. Do this for each line one by one until you have the results you desire.
After you are done, the lines should now be prepended with the desired string.
Notes:
There are many other ways that you can prepend lines in Visual Studio Code. The how-to above shows the regex replace method because it's a powerful tool that can handle many scenarios, not just prepending to lines.
Other methods may include installing plugins, using Visual Studio's multi-line cursor/select tools, etc.

Viva Glam II is a very recent purchase, but my god it is a real beauty. Literally from the minute I put this on my lips it was love at first sight. This is a beautiful nude mauve colour, with the tiniest hint of shimmer. Like most of the lipsticks I have included in this post, it is a satin finish, so lasts really well on the lips. If you're looking for the perfect 90s retro lipstick, then this is it! I like to pair it up with NYX Peekaboo pink lipliner.
Brave
This is another one of those lipsticks that Kylie Jenner claims she used to give her the oversized lip look.Hmmmm. Brave is a soft, rosy pink toned lipstick, with a satin finish. I absolutely adore this lipstick. Right now this is top of my list of possible wedding lipsticks. I love to wear Mac Edge to edge lipliner all over the lid, with Brave on top.
Velvet Teddy
This is hands down my most worn lipstick in the last 6 months. I love this lipstick! Velvet Teddy is described as a deep toned beige colour with a matte finish to it. Do not be put off by the matte finish, as this is extremely comfortable to wear, glides on easily and as it is a matte, it is very long lasting. There is a small bit of drying on the lips, but nothing that is uncomfortable and to be honest, it is worth it for the longevity that a matte lipstick gives. Creame cup
This lipstick is a serious cult classic.This is a creme sheen lipstick that feels quite creamy on first impression. It is a blue toned pink nude colour, which makes it perfect for Irish skin. I have worn this so much the past month. This is the perfect lipstick for day time. I love to wear it with Rimmel Eastend snob lipliner all over the lid and creame cup on top.
Mac So Select Vs Twig Dogwood
Snob
Looking for more of a pink toned neutral, then Snob is the colour for you. This is a light neutral blue toned pink. I find that it is a little on the cool toned, so I don't use it as a day to day lipstick, but more of a summer time pop of pink. It is a a satin finish and lasts for ages on the lips. Be warned,this can look a little Barbie pink at times, but I love it. I wear it with Rimmel East end snob to line the lips
Sleek Matte Me Lip Creams
When it comes to liquid lipsticks it seems there isn't a brand out there that hasn't tried it's hand at creating the perfect product. From high end to budget brands, they all have their own range of liquid lipsticks, with varying levels of success.
